ValuTeachers is honored to introduce to you the inaugural ValuTeacher of the Month recipient, Marian H. Brown.  Marian is currently a teacher in Kettering Middle School in Prince George's County, Maryland.  She has been in education for a total of 31 years, 27 years of those in the D.C. public school system, and four years at her current location in Kettering. 

Striving to make each and every child's learning experience the best it can be, Marian has a unique ability to work hand-in-hand, everyday, with all of the students, teachers, and parents.  Marian is a member of the Sunshine Club, the School Climate Committee and Member of Prince George's County Educators Association. As the mother of a professional athlete, she also helps to promote young athletes by working with a program that offers much needed scholarships. She is a Special Recruiter for the Dematha High School Football Team, working closely with renowned coach William "Bill" McGregor, who won his 4th straight title this season. The excitement and encouragement that Marian brings to her students and colleagues creates a thriving environment in which everyone around her can flourish.
